Camera-inspired necklace shows your love of photography

In our never-ending quest to find the perfect photography-related gift for that special snapper in our life, we think we've just discovered a gem.

And gem could be an appropriate word because this is a neckless, though there is no precious stone involved… just a bit of photo geekery.

Hanging from the 18" silver chain necklace is a laser-cut acrylic JEPG logo which has been produced as the result of a special collaboration between Photojojo and Jen Murse of plastique*.

Camera lens glass ensures the perfect shot

It's up to you what you drink out of these camera lens shot glasses, an espresso to set you up for a day of shooting... or something a little stronger.

All we know is that like the Canon lens flask before them, these little beauties are faithful replications of your favourite lenses - only designed to hold fluid or anything else you want to store.

The ceramic shot glasses even feature raised numbers, focus-ring ridges and an auto/manual focus switch.

Would you want your Leica re-painted?

Leica cameras are know for that famous little red dot (as well as their amazing image quality), but for some, it appears this isn't colourful enough.

As a result Colorware have started offering re-painted versions where you get to pick the colours of a Leica D-Lux 5 - whether you already own one, or want them to supply it.

And as you can see from the image above, there's almost no limit to the hideous colour combinations which you can have inflicted on your camera for $400. ($1200 if they provide it.)

Sony release new digital photo frames

Despite the fact that many people say they don't want them. Digital photo frames are taking over from traditional prints and there is no denying it.

And Sony have just rolled out their latest batch of pixel-packing frames which are sure to soon be rotating images of grandchildren around the world.

At the top of the S-Frame range, are the HD1000/HD800 models which, in addition to 'traditional' digital frame functions, offer full HD 50p video playback - though without the resolution to shoot it in full glory.

Gerber Steady knife has built-in tripod

Any photographer will tell you that having a pen knife in your camera bag is a smart idea - you never know when it will come in useful.

And after this knife is released by Gerber, it could be useful a whole lot more often… because this one has a built-in tripod.

The Gerber Steady also features a 1/4-20 screw for mounting your camera and  has a number of other (more typical) tools.

Olloclip: A quick-connect iPhone 4 lens solution

We all know that while iPhone is one of the most commonly used cameras in the world and has plenty of photo-related apps, the lens can let it down and limit what you can do… why else would you be able to attach DSLR lenses?

Well, a new device has been launched which promises to help out photo-minded iPhone users by giving them the opportunity to shoot fisheye, wide-angle and macro shots.

The Olloclip is a diminutive little widget which clips over the rear-facing camera of an Apple iPhone 4 positioning an additional lens over the standard one.

Niko camera bag stacks your gear safely

Anyone who has ever owned a DSLR will know how hard it can be to find the right bag to carry your beloved equipment around in, which is why are always pleased to find an impressive new bag.

And the 'Niko' from Chrome bags is certainly that, packing as it does customisable compartments and a quick release buckle into the weatherproof military-grade lined stylish bag.

Makers say the typical haul they would expect to carry in it would be lenses, flash, SLR camera, extra film, battery packs, and a tripod… which isn't bad for a small bag.

The camera purchase which helps you save money

At first glance it looks like a Canon 7D with a 70-200mm lens… but this is actually a camera purchase which could help you save money.

That's because this is really a coin bank shaped to look like a professional DSLR -- a Canon 7D and a EF 70-200mm 1:2.8 L IS USM II.

There's really not much more to say, other than the Canon 7D acts as the top on the lens which can be used for storing coins or notes… and that we want one.

Steve McCurry: The Iconic Photographs Limited Edition

There are few photojournalists who have taken as many truly iconic images as Steve McCurry whose work includes the famous green-eyed Afghan Girl.

And now Phaidon have released a limited edition collection of his most beautiful photographs which is sure to be of interest to photo-fans… even if it does cost £250.

While there are plenty of considerably cheaper Steve McCurry books available, this specially-bound large-format edition, is signed and numbered by the photographer and comes with an exclusive signed print.

Strap-based lens cap holder gets funding

There probably isn't a photographer out there who hasn't lost a lens cap, or at least spent too long trying to remember where they placed one.

Which is why it's surprising that this strap-based lens cap holder wasn't invented sooner… and why we think it could be a huge success.

Invented by Mark Stevenson from Chicago, and currently being funded on Kickstarter, the device attaches to your camera strap and features a circular recess to clip your lens cap into.

SpiderPro Pad: A Holster System for Pros

There are times when pro photographers need to carry more cameras than they have hands free - and for just such an occasion Spider Holster have released the SpiderPro Pad.

The holster-style carrying system is said to eliminate the back, shoulder and neck strain of carrying cameras and can comfortably hold two pro-level DSLR cameras.

Makers say that the modular system offers cross-platform compatibility and can fit to SpiderPro Belts as well as third-party photography belts.

Jo Totes: Camera Bags Designed For Women

Many female photographers complain that photography accessories are all too often geared towards men, and if you walk into any camera shop and look at things like bags, we think you will agree.

But all that could be about to change as more female-centric designers are seeing their products become a hit online… like these "camera bags for ladies".

Jo Totes bags have all the protection and padding you would expect from a normal camera-bag, but are wrapped up in an outer which is more akin to a vintage designer handbag.

Decorate your walls with pixelated cameras

We're constantly on the look-out for quirky photography-related gifts and have just fallen in love with these pixelated camera decals… now if only we had a bit of spare wall space.

The gloves are off for wildlife photographers

For wildlife photographers (or stalkers) it's important not to be seen, and to accomplish this you need to cover up things which make you stand out, whether that's your camera, body or hands.

And that last one can be tricky, because most camouflage gloves are not designed with fiddly actions like spinning dials and pressing buttons in mind.

Luckily a firm called 'Stealth Gear' have stepped in with their latest item, camouflage gloves made especially for photographers which are said to offer a perfect balance between warmth and camera control and sell for £39.95.

Lensbaby Sweet 35: Will it hit your sweet spot?

We love the Lensbaby range of products for providing a cost-effective way of instantly boosting our creativity and making photography fun.

Sure they are lo-fi optics, but the way the gizmos let you create a focus sweet spot and add artistic blurring, it's fantastic… until you change the aperture.

Until recently this meant fiddling about and replacing magnetic rings of varying diameter, and to be honest it spoiled the fun that was using Lensbaby products.

StickyGram Turns Instagrams into fridge magnets

In case you have been living in a cave for the past 12 months (or at least without a iPhone) and don't know what Instagram is, it's a photo sharing service which even manages to make mobile phone photos look cool.

Basically you just snap away, pick from an impressive selection of filters and then share your images with other Instagram-using friends.

But the problem is you and other people only ever get to see the photographs on the front of a phone -- which is where StickyGram comes in.

F-Stop Searching Camera Key Fob Caps

We are always looking for quirky little photography-based gifts, and we just love these little key fob caps from Japan.

While their won't help you capture that all important shot, they could make opening the door to your studio in the morning a little less mundane.

Created to look like the body of a camera, and available in three different colours - black, grey and yellow - the little faux-camera sits over the top of your key.

Eye Scope zoom lens released for iPhone

Let's get this straight, we are not suggesting for a minute that this zoom lens will convert your iPhone into a DSLR-beater, not by a long way.

That said, the Eye Scope opens up a whole range of photographic possibilities for your mobile phone -- besides which it looks like a bit of fun.

The 8x zoom screw-fit lens attaches to a case, which in turn fits around your iPhone and certainly gives you a better telephoto option than the standard digital zoom.

PhotoHanger is as cool as it is cheap

Well if you are looking for a simple, stylish and surprisingly cheap way of showing off your pictures, you could do a lot worse than these PhotoHangers from designer Juta Kan.
