Little Passports - Big Memories

I recently had the opportunity to take part in a review for a great new kids website call Little Passports. I know a little off the photo topic, but still a part of memory keeping and I wanted to be able to stress the importance of "keeping" memories for my daughter and this was the perfect opportunity to show her how to keep track of places she has been, collecting memorabilia and storing images and postcards!

Little Passports is an innovative web based subscription service that will give your child the gift of travel without ever leaving their homes.

The service costs $10.95 a month, which includes shipping, and is well worth it in my opinion. There are no contracts and you can cancel at any time.

Once you sign on for the service you will receive an adorable mini-suitcase filled with a passport, world map, letter from your guides Sam and Sofia as well as a picture of them on their magical red scooter.  The letter was personalized to my daughter and gave the details of how the "traveling" will work, how the magical red scooter came to be and what you can expect from their duties as tour guide.

With this initial delivery we received a passport that will ultimately be filled with stickers of all the countries she will travel and we also received a "boarding" pass that has a special code to allow my daughter access to a specific portion of the Little Passports website where she can play educational games and learn about the country she has access to.

The following month we received a new packet from our tour guides Sam and Sofia, ours was from Brazil. (Image shown here is from Japan)

What was in our 1st monthly kit from Brazil?

  • A boarding pass with our secret code to access more online games
  • Brazilian gemstone
  • Personalized letter from Sam and Sofia talking about their experiences in brazil
  • Activity Sheet
  • Photo of a really cool Brazilian native
  • Passport stamp
  • Map marker to put on her world map!

Each an every month your child will receive a personalized package from another country and every package will be different! Your child may receive puzzles, toys even music CD's.

Here is a sample of a worksheet - fun and education all wrapped up together!

All in all I would say that this is truly one of the best "gift ideas" for kids 5 and up. It is educational, fun and unique!

And what does my 6 year old daughter Rachel think? (Said by her, typed by Mom!)

"Mom, I love my Little Passports. I love getting something in the mail and being surprised. I like to see things from other countries and read about what Sam & Sofia do there.  The online games are fun and seeing the map with the pictures on the computer was really cool too."
