Camera returned to owner after year beneath sea

A camera which was lost and spent a year at the bottom of the ocean has finally been returned to its owner... after being discovered by a scuba diving wildlife photographer.

Diver Markus Thompson had been exploring the sea at Vancouver, British Columbia when he came across the submerged DSLR camera which had clearly seen better days.

However, he was able to recover 50 images of a family vacation from the memory card within the Canon EOS 1000D camera and decided to try and find the original photographer.

After posting some of the images on his Google+ page and doing a bit of detective work Sherlock Holmes would be proud of, he was able to track them down and reunite them with the camera and lost images.
