App tells story of how National Geographic photographers did it

If you are anything like us, you will have at some point looked at some of the great images in National Geographic and wonder just how the photographers did it.

Well there is good news, National Geographic has released an iPad app which will tell you just that for 50 of their greatest ever images.

'50 Greatest Photographs of National Geographic' - which can be downloaded for £2.99 - is said to tell you the story behind the iconic images with videos from the photographers themselves.

You can also see the sequence of images made by the photographers in the field, and find out just how the “perfect shot” happened, or read up about them with their biographies.

Bosses also say you can view the photographs on a map, enjoy "top user-submitted photography" and share the shots with your friends, you can also buy prints from within the app.
