Despite the fact that many people say they don't want them. Digital photo frames are taking over from traditional prints and there is no denying it.

And Sony have just rolled out their latest batch of pixel-packing frames which are sure to soon be rotating images of grandchildren around the world.

At the top of the S-Frame range, are the HD1000/HD800 models which, in addition to 'traditional' digital frame functions, offer full HD 50p video playback - though without the resolution to shoot it in full glory.

Sony add that an inbuilt speaker assures crisp, clear audio playback and that the 2GB of internal memory space is enough to store 4,000 images.

The frames also come with a remote control to flip between slideshows and clock/calendar viewing modes.
